Children who might hesitate to join a group on a playground find an easy way in when there is a diner to run, a train to ride, or a market to shop together.
Our kid-sized city mirrors the places children visit every day, so the social skills they practice here carry over to stores, restaurants, classrooms, and neighborhoods.
Children of all abilities share the same space, the same events, and the same adventures, building understanding and acceptance on both sides.
Parents and caregivers connect with one another, share what works, and find a community that welcomes their whole family.
Play is how children learn to connect. Every visit blends social recreation, pretend play, sensory exploration, and time with peers, each supporting a different part of a child’s development.
Structured and open-ended recreation gives children regular, positive time with peers outside of school and therapy, building a routine of joyful, social activity that supports overall well-being.
Role play as chefs, doctors, shopkeepers, and drivers builds imagination, language, sequencing, and perspective-taking as children act out real-world routines and stories.
Sensory-friendly spaces let children explore textures, movement, sounds, and lights at their own pace, supporting regulation, body awareness, and comfort in new environments.
Playing alongside other children creates natural moments to say hello, share, take turns, cooperate, and work through small conflicts with support nearby.
Play gives children real reasons to talk, gesture, ask questions, and listen, whether they are taking an order at the diner or planning a train route with a friend.
Waiting for a turn, following simple game rules, and shifting between activities give children low-pressure practice managing feelings and transitions.

Imagine City accepts third-party payments for our services, making it simple for regional centers, Self-Determination Program teams, and other authorized payers to fund social recreation for the children they support.
Invoices will be sent upon receiving authorization for Social Recreation Services. We accept check payments and card payments.
